Klub Nord

Visualizations: Nova5 Arkitekter

The new extension to the club has been constructed with distinctive glulam structures that form the structural and architectural focal point of the project. The glulam provides a robust, warm, and natural materiality that supports the ambition for a healthy indoor climate and a sustainable profile. The structures create an open, flexible communal space with generous ceiling height and a homely character, where bay windows and a partially open south façade connect the interior and exterior.

The building is made of healthy, long-lasting materials and combines the strength of glulam with façade solutions of reclaimed brick and elements insulated with eelgrass. The overall design is enhanced by a transparent entrance lobby that connects the extension to the existing buildings and provides additional spaces for socializing and workshops.

The project has been developed with a focus on a low CO₂ footprint, documented through LCA calculations, and is complemented by climate adaptation measures such as sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) and rain gardens, which enhance biodiversity and reduce the impact of cloudbursts.
