Engesvang School

Woodconstruction has been involved in Engesvang School in collaboration with Jens Jensen A/S, where we supplied and installed glulam structures.

The project is part of a comprehensive renovation, conversion, and expansion of the school for Ikast-Brande Municipality and was awarded to the team consisting of Gjørtz / Andersen Arkitekter, DAI, and Jens Jensen A/S.

The expansion includes three new extensions, with the largest forming the school’s new central hub, featuring a school square, administration, classrooms, and shared facilities. At the same time, the existing school is being restructured, with functions relocated and consolidated to create a more cohesive and functional school.

The project is characterized by a transformation in which new construction must be integrated with existing buildings from several different decades. This places demands on the solutions at the transitions between new and old, where geometry, detailing, and execution must all work precisely in practice.
