CLT og limtræ er væsentlig mere miljøvenligt at fremstille end stål og beton. Ved at fremme brugen af CLT og limtræ i byggeriet i Danmark, bidrager både vi og vores kunder til lavere CO₂-udledning i fremstillingsprocessen.

Derudover er der i fremstillingen af CLT og limtræ en 100% anvendelse af materialet, da det bortskårne træ bliver brugt til andre og mindre træprodukter, savsmuld og spåner, og bliver solgt til dyrehold samt varmesektoren i form af træpiller og biobrændsel.

Udover et lavt klimaaftryk er byggeri opført i træ mere behagelige at opholde sig i, da træet bidrager til et godt indeklima.

Byggeri i træ har en lavere vægt end byggeri i stål og beton, og kan derfor ofte håndteres med mindre maskiner og mindre fundament.

Montagen af CLT og limtræ foregår mere nænsomt over for lokalområdet end konventionelt byggeri, da samling af træ foregår hurtigt og støjsvagt til sammenligning.

Ved anvendelse af CLT og limtræ i stedet for konventionelle byggematerialer spares der ca. 1,1 ton CO₂ pr. kubikmeter træ.

CO₂ lagres i mange år frem i det anvendte træ og træbyggerier har historisk set en meget lang levetid, såfremt det bliver plejet behørigt.

Alt vores træ er underlagt europæisk lovgivning og certificering, og skoves fra europæiske skove i tilvækst (skovarealet bliver større fra år til år).

Woodconstruction A/S støtter træplantning i Ecuador via Growing Trees Network, og på denne måde forsøger vi at række ud over vores nationale og europæiske hjemmemarked. Dermed byder vi ind på de helt store globale udfordringer: udryddelse af regnskoven og tabet af biodiversitet.

Samtidig skabes også arbejde og gode livsbetingelser for den befolkningen, og der bidrages til CO₂ fangst.
